- 35% of the Department's work was rated in the highest category 4*, defined as 'world-leading in terms of originality, significance and rigour'

rating, there are a number of different ways of calculating league
tables which compare different universities. A simple measure which
takes account of the whole profile is the 'grade point average',
combining the proportion of 4* multiplied by 4, the proportion of 3*
multiplied by 3, and so on.
On this measure Oxford Psychology comes a narrow second to Cambridge in a national table. It is noteworthy that Oxford's scores were achieved across a group of 39 researchers, compared to only 24 from Cambridge.
QAA Review of Teaching
The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) for Higher Education awarded a maximum score of 24 for teaching and learning quality in their recent review of Psychology at Oxford University and the Oxford MSc in Neuroscience Course.
