MSc in Psychological Research (PGT Course)
(Course Code 002221). This is a 1 year taught masters, running from 1st October until 30th September and is ESRC accredited.
Course History - The MSc in Psychological Research was established in October 2002 and was jointly taught in collaboration with Oxford Brookes University until October 2011. From October 2011, the MSc in Psychological Research will be taught entirely by the Department of Experimental Psychology. Therefore the following course structure is an enhancement of the current MSc in Psychological Research.

The Course Structure
The MSc in Psychological Research course consists of ten modules, all of which are separately assessed:

- Philosophical Foundations of Psychology
- Brain and Cognition
- Emotion, Personality & Social Behaviour
- Language and Development
- Computational Neuroscience
- Mini Projects
- Research Evaluation
- Project Design
- Statistical Theory and Methods
- Research Project
The course also provides training in personal and transferable skills such as computing skills in the context of psychological research (including qualitative methods) and communication (both oral and written). On completing this course, students will have the following:

CHOOSING A COLLEGE
MSc in Psychological Research students must be members of a college. Applicants will have to indicate on their application form which college they would like to join.

ELIGIBILITY FOR THE COURSE
To be eligible for this course you will need to have an undergraduate degree with a substantial component of psychology to qualify.
