Studying Psychology at Oxford

View the Undergraduate Psychology Course Brochure

Undergraduate psychology at Oxford is taught as a scientific discipline, involving substantial amounts of practical work and experimentation. The course concentrates on biological, human experimental, social and developmental psychology.  (Psychoanalysis and related areas are *not* taught as part of this course).   It also has very close links with neuroscience, including neurophysiology and neurology.  If you are interested in a pathway to Neuroscience, please see the  BA in Biomedical Sciences course.

Psychology at Oxford can be studied either on its own as a BA in Experimental Psychology (C830) or has a combination with philosophy, BA in Psychology & Philosophy (CV85).

*NEW* for 2013 Entry!  In October 2012, we will be accepting applications from candidates who wish to study for a BA in Psychology & Linguistics (CQ81) or a BA in Philosophy & Linguistics (VQ51) - Information on the *NEW* PPL Course

Both degrees offer some flexibility in the choice of subjects from psychology and from related disciplines but the psychological studies are in every case related to experimental psychology and not to clinical, philosophical or analytic psychology.
