Studying Psychology as a Mature Student

Oxford classifies a candidate who will be over 21 on entering the University as a 'mature student'. Although most mature students are in their 20s, 30s and 40s, there is no upper age limit.

Mature students come from many different backgrounds, with differing qualifications, careers and life skills, but they all bring to their studies a high degree of motivation and experience which is an asset to their college and to the University.

All colleges are pleased to consider applications from mature students and Harris Manchester College has made this a priority, admitting about 30 mature students each year for certain degrees. The application procedures for mature students who are not graduates of other universities is exactly the same as those described for all other Oxford candidates.
