Joshua Harvey

Postdoctoral Researcher

Looking at medieval ideas with modern eyes and vice-a-versa.

Research Summary

A researcher on the Ordered Universe Project, interdisciplinary readings of medieval science.

I am interested in medieval theories of sensory perception, and how they can be interpreted, theoretically and experimentally, today. This interest has led me to carry out research into the perception of speech, colour, and material properties, as well as high-speed imaging of acoustic phenomena, and the optics of rainbows.

Please feel free to get in touch, I'm always happy to chat about neurobiology, stats, and philosophy of science.
