Neuroeconomic investigations of social decisions involving pain for oneself and for others

We are looking for participants in a study that involves making decisions about positive and negative outcomes for yourself and for other people. These outcomes may involve mildly painful electric shocks for yourself and / or your partner.

We will reimburse you for your time and travel expenses. You will also have a chance to win additional money during the study. The study involves a single testing session of approx. 1.5 hours that takes place at the New Richards Building (Old Road Campus, Oxford).

This study has been approved by the Central University Research Ethics Committee (reference MSD-IDREC-C1-2015-001). The chief investigators are Prof Molly Crockett and Dr Andreas Kappes, joined by Dr Nadira Faber and Anne-Marie Nussberger amongst others.
