Katja Beardsell
Graduate Research Assistant
I am a Graduate Research Assistant at the Oxford Centre for Anxiety Disorders and Trauma (OxCADAT). The research conducted by the OxCADAT team focuses on the role of cognitive processes in maintaining and treating social anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder. I am currently working on the dissemination of internet-based cognitive therapy, for social anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder, into the NHS.
Prior to my current role I completed a BEng in Engineering from the University of Nottingham and worked within sustainability before retraining so that I was able to shift my focus to psychology. In doing so, I chose to complete a MSc in Psychology from Birkbeck College, University of London which I finalised in 2021. Since then I have worked in a SEMH school environment, volunteered for both Cruse Bereavement and Oxfordshire Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Centre, and worked within psychological research with a focus on behavioural science.
