My research interests are broadly the application and development of statistical methodology to real applied problems. I have specific areas of interest in: Bayesian methods and computational statistics.
I completed both a HND in Engineering (2002) and degree in Mathematics (2005), before conducting my PhD research in statistics (2009).

My postdoctoral career as a statistician has allowed me to work in difference disciplines, starting in methods development in extreme weather predictions, medical screening and clinical trials, before progressing to applied work in experimental psychology.
Between October 2008 and July 2009, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher for the Fetal Medicine Foundation. This role looked at novel pre-natal screening algorithms for Down’s Syndrome and Pre-eclampsia.
Before coming to Oxford, I held the role of Senior Research Fellow in Applied Statistics at the Centre for Biostatistics, Bioinformatics and Biomarkers, Peninsula school of Medicine and Dentistry (Plymouth and Exeter Universities). My role was supported by a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Grant entitled "Clinical Trials Methods in Neurodegenerative Diseases", where I was senior statistical modeller and method development researcher. The focus of this research was the development of statistical models within a Bayesian framework that showed individual differences in patient’s disease trajectories (stratified medicine).
I joined Oxford University in January 2014 to work on the Wellcome Language and Reading Project as a Biostatistician in Professor Maggie Snowling group (CRL, University of Oxford). Following completion of this project, I moved to OSCCI (Prof. Dorothy Bishop's research group) and work on a diverse range of projects. I have additional interests in open science and reproducible research practices.
