Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
The Doctorate in Clinical Psychology is offered in collaboration with the Oxford Institute of Clinical Psychology Training and Research (OXICPTR). The programme provides training and research in evidence-based psychological approaches to understanding and treating mental health problems.
Graduates are prepared to practice as highly competent and flexible scientist-practitioners, equipped to work in a range of health and social care contexts. The curriculum includes a research-led academic and skills training programme, high-quality clinical placements, and excellent research support and supervision.
The programme draws on empirically supported theoretical orientations like Cognitive-Behavioral and Systemic Therapies. Graduates develop an empirically grounded, reflective, and ethical framework for practice and further professional development.
Locations and residentials
Teaching takes place across Oxford city (Cowley, Warneford Hospital), and may also happen in other Trust locations and within the Thames Valley footprint, as well as on-line as required.
