Abbie Wilkins

PGCert, MSc, BSc

Research Assistant and Wellbeing Practitioner

I work as a Research Assistant at the Oxford Centre for Anxiety Disorders and Trauma (OxCADAT) working with Dr. Jennifer Wild. The research conducted by the OxCADAT team focuses on the role of cognitive processes in the maintenance and treatment of anxiety disorders, particularly social anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder.

I am currently working on the SHAPE (Supporting Hospital and Paramedic Employees during and after COVID) Recovery Programme to provide evidence-based mental health support to frontline healthcare workers with symptoms of PTSD and Depression.

Before joining the University of Oxford, I completed a PGCert in Psychological Therapies Practice at the University of Exeter and worked at a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner within the NHS. Prior to this I completed an MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Sussex and a BSc in Psychology at the University of Southampton where my research concerned animal emotions and human-animal interactions.
