Children's Communication Impairments (Bishop Lab)

My research involves the study of cerebral lateralisation for language, and its potential importance for normal language development. In particular, I am interested in how lateralisation may be disrupted in individuals with language and communication impairments.

During my DPhil project I will be developing robust methodologies for assessing individual differences in lateralisation for use with fuctional transcranial Doppler and fMRI. I will then use these to assess whether atypical lateralisation is associated with neurodevelopmental disorders affecting language and literacy.
