Anxiety & Trauma (OxCADAT)

My research focuses on information updating and autobiographical memory characteristics in post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is an effective treatment for PTSD but the mechanisms that lead to symptom change have not been sufficiently investigated. Particularly, I am interested in how autobiographical memory characteristics change over treatment and how these changes are related to PTSD symptom improvement.

With my research I aim to improve the understanding of treatment mechanisms of trauma-focused CBT. This, in turn, may help to refine existing treatment and to clarify the nature of autobiographical memory disturbances in PTSD.
