HR Assistant

As HR Assistant within the Department I provide administrative support to Tracy Tompkins, Departmental Administrator, and Karen Nobes, Personnel and Administration Manager. I work Monday to Wednesday.

My role includes maintaining the department’s payroll and acting as first point of contact for any payroll queries. I am responsible for reporting from the CORE HR system and ensuring that all records are up-to-date, including right to work checks, outside appointments and the Departmental Training Database. 

I act as the Personal Development Review (PDR) Coordinator for all Academic Related and Support staff and also coordinate the Annual Awards for Excellence Scheme. 

I provide support for Athena Swan activities, gather data for and update the Athena Swan personnel database and assist with other project work as necessary. 

I have worked in Human Resources for twenty years, primarily in the financial services sector. My most recent roles were as HR Manager within a large city law firm and as an employee relations specialist in a major US investment bank.
