Samantha Pearcey

PhD

Postdoctoral Researcher

I am currently working as a postdoctoral researcher on the Supporting Parents and Children in an Epidemic (Co-SPACE) project, which is tracking the mental health of children through the COVID-19 pandemic; focussing on the qualitative aspects of the project as well as PPI involvement and the longitudinal analyses of the survey data.

My research interests in general focus on anxiety difficulties in children. I have a specific interest in social anxiety, social communication and their relationship in children. I recently completed my PhD under the supervision of Professor Cathy Creswell and Dr Bhisma Chakrabarti. Within my PhD I researched the association between social anxiety and social communication within a clinically anxious and non-anxious children using experimental tasks.
