Perception (Smithson Lab)
Researching human colour perception
My research interests are in perception, particularly vision. I am currently exploiting adaptive optics retinal imaging to better understand how retinal physiology gives rise to human colour perception.
My past research projects include investigation of the neural basis for the difference in perceptual thresholds for hue and saturation; the mechanisms underlying perception of the colour blue; and the effects of speech pitch and background noise on speech comprehension.
