Stefano Sarao Mannelli

I am interested in the learning dynamics of neural networks. Neural networks are complex objects with a large number of parameters and whose remarkable practical performances defy our knowledge from classical statistics. Research in artificial neural networks is gradually solving some of the mysteries, but many fabulous questions are still unanswered.

In Andrew Saxe's Lab we work on theoretical aspects of artificial and non-artificial neural networks. The goal is to develop theory for computer science problems and to transfer this knowledge to shed light upon elusive features of biological and behavioural phenomena.
