Research Interests
Currently a first year DPhil student under the supervision of Prof. Steve Kennerley, my research project focuses on cognitive maps in the prefrontal cortex (PFC) that support value-based decision making. I am particularly interested in why grid-like codes emerge and are utilised in the PFC, and how this might relate back to maps of physical space in the hippocampal formation.
Previously, in the final year of my integrated Master's at UCL, I worked with Prof. Caswell Barry to model subicular attractor network representations of boundaries in space. For my DPhil, I intend to combine what we know about the hippocampal formation and PFC to better understand the role of prefrontal grid codes in encoding abstract information for decision-making. This research will rely on biologically plausible computational modelling and analyses of the rich neural data collected by the Kennerley lab.
