All applicants who wish to study Experimental Psychology or Psychology, Philosophy and Linguistics at the University of Oxford are required to sit the TARA (Test of Academic Reasoning for Admissions)

The TARA (Test of Academic Reasoning for Admissions) helps College Tutors to assess whether applicants have the appropriate skills and aptitudes for the course. The admissions test is just one part of our admissions process.
Test preparation
TARA (Test of Academic Reasoning for Admissions) for those applying to Experimental Psychology or Psychology, Philosophy and Linguistics (PPL)
Candidates for Experimental Psychology or Psychology, Philosophy and Linguistics are required to take the TARA (Test of Academic Reasoning for Admissions)
There are two multiple choice modules within the TARA; Critical Thinking and Problem Solving. This is followed by a Writing Task. The TARA assesses generic thinking skills and your ability to express yourself clearly in writing. You do not need any subject specific knowledge.
We strongly recommend that you explore the past papers and practice materials here. The TSA and BMAT past papers are most suitable to help to prepare for the TARA (Test of Academic Reasoning for Admissions).
