Our Department has enjoyed considerable success at the recent Experimental Psychology Society (EPS) Awards. The Society was founded in 1946 to facilitate research in the subject, and scientific communication among experimental psychologists and those working in cognate fields.
Dorothy Bishop will give the 47th Sir Frederick Bartlett Prize Lecture at the EPS Meeting in Bournemouth 10-12 July. This Lectureship is endowed by a trust fund in the name of Sir Frederic Bartlett and the first Lecture was delivered in 1966. The award is to recognise distinction in experimental psychology over an extended period.
Matthew Rushworth will give the 18th EPS Mid-Career Prize Lecture in 2020. The EPS Mid-Career Award is to recognise an experimental psychologist who has a distinguished research record over a substantial period and who has contributed to the advancement of the field.
Jacob Lagerros, a BA Psychology, Philosophy and Linguistics student who graduated last year, is joint winner of the British Science Association/EPS Undergraduate Project Prize 2019/2020 for his project with Chris Summerfield 'Computational Mechanisms Underlying Flexible Decision-Making Via Instant Decomposition'. He will deliver a talk on his research project at the meeting in July.
