Emma Kinnaird

MRF Senior Researcher

I am funded by the Medical Research Foundation to better understand the prevalence and significance of ADHD in bulimia nervosa in women, including potential underlying psychological mechanisms. This project is in collaboration with Prof. Kate Tchanturia at King's College London.

I have strong research interests in how we can improve eating disorder treatments for neurodiverse people, including working on the development of a specialist eating disorders and autism pathway as part of my PhD: PEACE Pathway - Home. I am also interested in the areas of eating disorders and neurodiversity more broadly: my current projects include better understanding iatrogenic harm in eating disorder treatment, exploring potential camouflaging behaviour in people with ADHD, and thinking about how best to support children & families where the child is experiencing selective eating in the context of neurodiversity.

I also have a strong interest in teaching and training. In addition to my post-doctoral role, I work as a Research Tutor at the Oxford Institute of Clinical Psychology Training and Research.
