Amar Sarkar will begin a PhD in August 2020 in the Department of Human Evolutionary Biology at Harvard University. Amar has also been selected as one of just a handful of Presidential Scholars of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (who are chosen each year from amongst the most promising and outstanding candidates admitted by Harvard). Amar will study host-microbiome interactions in an evolutionary context, an interest he first developed during his time as a research assistant in our lab.
