Studentship 1 affiliated with Jesus College (Reference Code: 12EXP01WEBJOB)

Project Title: Understanding and Enhancing Attention Using Transcranial Alternating Current Stimulation and Electroencephalography

The project aims to understand and enhance sustained attention using non-invasive brain stimulation and electroencephalography and will involve examining the link between sustain attention, brain oscillations and non-invasive brain stimulation to modify brain oscillations and improved attentional abilities.

Supervisors: Dr Roi Cohen Kadosh and Dr Nick Yeung.

Studentship 2 affiliated with Wolfson College   (Reference Code: 12EXP05WEBJOB)

Project Title: The Social Neuroscience of Self-Oriented and Team-oriented Biases – from Brain Responses to Behaviour

The project will be based around a new technique for measuring biases in basic perceptual tasks for stimuli associated with the self or with the in-group. It will examine how self-biases link to performance in solo and team activities and whether team training changes the biases in individuals. fMRI will be used to evaluate the neural basis of any effects.

Supervisors: Professor Glyn Humphreys and Professor Miles Hewstone.
