My research focuses on anxiety disorders in children, and improving access to evidence-based treatment for families affected by child anxiety problems.
I recently completed my PhD, under the supervision of Professor Cathy Creswell. My PhD research focused on help-seeking for anxiety disorders in pre-adolescent children. This work identified key barriers families face seeking and accessing support, and, importantly, ways to minimise and overcome these barriers to help ensure more children with anxiety problems receive help when they first need it.
I have a particular interest in the assessment and identification of anxiety disorders, and am conducting ongoing research to develop, evaluate and improve questionnaire measures of child anxiety.
I am also currently working as a lead-author on an updated Cochrane Review of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for anxiety disorders in children and adolescents.
