Sophie Grant
DPhil Candidate
I am a DPhil student in the Cognitive and Behavioural Approaches to Mental Health in Young People (CAMY) group.
My research focuses on social anxiety and peer relationship difficulties in adolescents in the community.
I am working with Dr Eleanor Leigh and Professor Lucy Bowes. We aim to explore the cognitive and behavioural mechanisms that are involved in the reciprocal relationship between social anxiety and peer relationship difficulties. To do this, we use a mixed methods approach including qualitative research and longitudinal social network analysis.
We are also co-designing resources for teachers to help them support students with social anxiety in schools.
My research is funded by the Oxford Health BRC.
I also work as a Research Assistant at the Oxford Centre for Anxiety Disorders and Trauma.
