Mey Bahar Büyükbabani

MSc Psychological Research Student

I am currently reading for an MSc in Psychological Research here at the University of Oxford. Previously, I have graduated from Koç University in Turkey with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. During my bachelor's degree I have studied incidental emotions' effect on ethical decision making, as well as sexual arousal's effect on self regulation. I have also worked as a teaching and research assistant for various professors while carrying out my studies.

Currently, I am working on an independent research study under the supervision of Dr Brian Earp. Our work aims to uncover the possible unique effects of arousal (i.e., sexual arousal, positive arousal) on cognitive mechanisms like attention.

My main research interests are understanding cognitive mechanisms that underlie affective processes, attention, interpersonal relationships, self regulation and sexual psychology.
