Many congratulations to EP DPhil student Lev Tankelevitch for winning the best National/International film at the Bristol Science Film Festival for his recent short science film about the neuroscience of touch perception.
Just a Touch (2017) is a short (~6m) film that explores the neuroscience of touch perception from the skin to the brain, using a combination of live action filming and animation. It was a collaboration with Cristiana Vagnoni, a fellow neuroscience DPhil student based in DPAG; Maria Malandrino, an animator with Future Dog Studio, based in Italy; and Federico Malandrino, a sound designer and composer based in Italy. Competing with 14 other shortlisted films, it recently won the best National/International film prize at the Bristol Science Film Festival, organised by the Bristol+Bath branch of the British Science Association.
