From small beginnings in 2008, the improving access to psychological therapies (IAPT) programme is now established in all English CCGs. Around 600,000 patients per year have a course of treatment. For 99% of individuals Outcome data is collected and publicly reported . This talk focuses on the economic and clinical arguments behind the establishment of the programme on what has been learned from the outcome data, adaptations in the face of COVID-19 and plans for the future expansion of IAPT.
