Histology Small Research Facility (SRF) available in Sherrington Building room C85
This is a shared service between the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics (DPAG) and the Department of Experimental Psychology (EP). The Histology Laboratory manager running this facility is Greg Daubney from Experimental Psychology.
The Histology Facility is open to researchers for their own use after a mandatory Laboratory
induction by the Histology manager.
Current charges for using the Histology Facility
Full Histology Service (Processing of histological samples) by the Histology manager, subject to
availability: £409 per day* or parts thereof
Access to the Lab to use cryostats, other specialist/histology equipment or for histological
processing by individuals after lab induction: £25 per hour*
*These charges are in effect from 1 February 2024 and are subject to review on an annual basis.

Freezing stage Leica /Leitz Microtomes
Bright Cryostat
Leica Vibratome
Rotary Microtome for paraffin embedded tissue
Light Microscopes
Microtome Knife Sharpening service available
Perfusion Fluids and Fixatives can be ordered from the Histology Facility by arrangement.
