Project Manager and Recruitment Officer

Improving numeracy development for 3-4-year-olds by combining executive and maths activities with THE ONE project

My current project is THE ONE (Orchestrating Numbers and the Executive) randomised control trial of the Education Endowment Foundation, where I am responsible for the recruitment of 150 schools and the overall management of the project. The ONE consists of practitioner development and guided play preschool activities to improve children’s numeracy and executive functions.

Before I joined the ABCD baby lab in 2023, I worked on the oral language intervention programme
‘NELI-N’ for young children, in the Department of Education from 2019-2022.
Before I came to Oxford, I completed my MSc in Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of York in 2018 and BA (Hons) in Childhood Studies at the University of Aberystwyth in 2013. I have over 10 years of extensive, hands-on experience of working with children, specializing in Early Years (0-5 years) with the majority of this work experience acting as a nursery Room Leader across various settings.

My research interests centre around various aspects of child development in particular: executive functioning, language development in monolingual and bilingual children, socio-emotional and sleep development in early childhood.

I was also awarded the University Research Staff Representative Fellowship twice, in 2020 and 2021, for my efforts as Co-Chair of the Oxford Research Staff Society.
