Cédric Foucault

PhD MSc BSc

Junior Research Fellow

I am a postdoctoral Junior Research Fellow of Christ Church College working in the Decision Dynamics Laboratory. I came to Oxford in 2024 after I obtained my PhD in Paris in December 2023. My research focuses on developing computational models of human cognition and behavior in dynamic environments.

Before transitioning to neuroscience, I was a computer scientist and worked as a software engineer at Apple in Silicon Valley, California. Drawing on this background, I have developed expertise in computational modeling and in leveraging computer science tools for neuroscience applications. During my PhD, I specifically studied those aspects of cognition related to learning and inference under uncertainty, using fMRI, behavioral data, neural networks, and Bayesian modeling. I am now expanding my research to encompass broader aspects of cognition, including decision-making, and making use of other neuroimaging modalities, such as M/EEG, while continuing to leverage my expertise in computational modeling.
