Research Summary

Our research group has an international reputation for developing new and effective psychological treatments for anxiety disorders.  Our current research is focused on improving the efficacy and accessibility of talking therapies for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Social Anxiety Disorder (Social Phobia).  As part of this work we are developing internet delivered cognitive therapy treatments and testing these in randomized controlled clinical trials.

Furthermore, I am also carrying out research into the role of self-criticism in social anxiety disorder and the impact of social anxiety on technologically mediated communication, including the social networking site facebook.
