Lauren Cash

Assistant Psychologist

I am an assistant psychologist working as part of the Oxford Cognitive Approaches to Psychosis (O-CAP) research team, led by Prof Daniel Freeman. I work on the Talking with Voices II trial, which is investigating the efficacy of a new psychological therapy (Talking with Voices) for adults experiencing distressing voices. The therapy involves dialoguing with voices, with the aim of improving the relationship between the patient and the voices that they hear. It is a large multi-site trial led by Dr Eleanor Longden and Prof Tony Morrison. Manchester is the lead site, Dr Bryony Sheaves is the Oxford site lead and other sites include London and Newcastle.

I completed my BSc in Psychology at the University of Buckingham in 2020. After graduating, I worked as an assistant psychologist on an inpatient unit for older adults with mental health difficulties and / or dementia. My most recent role was working as an assistant psychologist in both critical care and paediatric outpatient services (diabetes and long-covid).
