Memoona Ahmed

I am a Research Assistant for the Phoenix trial, run by Prof. Daniel Freeman and coordinated by Dr Laina Rosebrock, based with the Oxford Cognitive Approaches to Psychosis (OCAP) research group. 

Phoenix is a randomised control trial assessing the efficacy of a new virtual reality (VR) cognitive therapy for young people with psychosis compared to treatment as usual. Phoenix focuses on building self-confidence and a sense of enjoying positive experiences. The trial is being run across four different NHS trusts. 

I am also supporting on the experimental development of new VR experiences for healthcare with Dr Sinead Lambe and Dr Helen Beckwith. 

I completed my undergraduate degree in Experimental Psychology at Oxford University and have since worked as an Assistant Psychologist in both an adult IAPT service and a youth counselling service. 

My particular interests are in understanding and developing interventions for children and young people with experiences of trauma and complex mental health issues.
