Nearly 40% of deaths in the United States are accounted for by behaviour (mainly smoking, diet, physical inactivity, and alcohol use). While we often know the solution behaviourally, we struggle to translate our intentions into actions and, specifically, into healthy decisions. I will be studying the neural reward systems that underlie these health decisions with the goal of advancing our understanding of behaviour change.
