Yang Gao
DPhil Candidate
I am a researcher, interactive media artist, designer, and filmmaker. I am currently pursuing a DPhil in Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford, under the supervision of Professor Charles Spence. My research focuses on integrating eating experience design to improve multisensory film storytelling and immersive experiences.
I graduated from University College London with an MArch in Design for Performance and Interaction and from New York University Shanghai with a B.Sc in Interactive Media Arts, with a minor in Film and New Media. My films and interactive art pieces have been exhibited in London, New York, Abu Dhabi, and Shanghai. Prior to my current research, I worked as a film director and visual designer for major TV shows in China, as well as a UX designer.
I am always interested in exploring how immersive storytelling enhances user experience, interaction, and communication, and vice versa.
