Zak Evernden

Graduate Research Assistant

I am a Graduate Research Assistant working with the Oxford Centre for Anxiety Disorders and Trauma (OxCADAT). My role consists of delivering trials of internet-delivered cognitive therapy for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD).

Previously I was the lead RA for Coventry & Warwickshire on the Assured trial. This NIHR-funded randomised controlled trial aimed to support people presenting to NHS Emergency Departments with self-harm and/or suicidal ideation. It tested delivery of a brief solution-focused intervention following discharge from hospital in comparison to standard care.

I graduated with an MSc in Forensic Psychology from the University of Kent, and also spent several years supporting academic researchers with their data collection at the research-focused startup Prolific.

My main interest is in conducting high-quality psychological research to improve interventions for people who have experienced trauma.
