Dorothy Bishop wins prestigious ERC advanced grant
Professor Dorothy Bishop has been awarded an advanced grant by the European Research Council.
The project will investigate the longstanding question of why the human brain exhibits asymmetric lateralisation. 150 years after Broca's discovered that language is lateralised to the left cerebral hemisphere we still do not know how or why humans have this lateral bias. The programme includes five projects that will clarify the nature of language lateralisation and develop reliable and valid methods for measuring this trait. It will also explore links with developmental disorders and genetic contributions to individual variation in cerebral asymmetry.
Congratulations Dorothy!
