Functional and Structural MRI
functional and structural mri
We use functional MRI to investigate which brain areas are activated during various speech perception and production tasks. Currently, we are using TMS in combination with fMRI to examine sensorimotor interactions during speech communication. We also use MRI also to examine the structure of the brain.
We use 3T and 7T MRI scanners in the Oxford FMRIB centre in our studies.
Please see Developmental Stuttering for our interesting results related to functional and structural differences between fluent speakers and people who stutter.
