Dear EP friends and colleagues,

As you will have seen, the advice from the government has changed. We are encouraged to avoid unnecessary physical contact and to work from home if we can. Please can I encourage all to do so?

Please also pause any studies on human participants, unless there are very strong reasons not to (e.g., the study is part of an individual’s clinical care). Discuss with your PI if necessary and then contact me about any study that you feel needs to continue.

You will be wishing for more communication and information, and it will be coming. Meetings on the University and Divisional leaderships have been taking place today.

In EP, we are holding a number of meetings this week to learn how we can best navigate this difficult situation so that we can best support and help each other. As we know more, we will be rolling out more information to you. Together, I’m sure we can find positive and  innovative ways of bringing goodness into what is undoubtably a stressful situation for many of us. We will make sure we have a clear communication channel to keep all informed.

Meanwhile, please refer to the University advice pages for the most up-to-date information and advice. Given the anxiety, worry and disruption many of us are facing, I hope that the following guidance will be of use in helping us all look after our mental, as well as our physical, health as best we can:

Keep well,

Kia
