Study on attention and memory in children aged 6-12 years

What are we trying to find out?

Researchers at the University of Oxford are looking at how attention and memory support learning in children. This is important for things like attending and remembering information at school.

Who are we asking to participate?

Children aged 5-12 years

Where will it take place?

University of Oxford, the Department of Experimental Psychology at Ewert House, Ewert Place, Summertown, OX2 7SG

What will happen if my child takes part?

Children will play fun, pirate-themed computer games where they are asked to find specific objects within scenes.  While children play the games, we will use an ‘eye-tracking’ monitor to follow children’s eye movements. This is fun and completely non-invasive, and there are no video recordings taken.

How long will it take?

The games take about 1.5-2 hours to complete. We can see you and your child after school, at the weekend, or in the school holidays.
